KITAGWENDA DISTRICT OFFICIALS PAYS TRIBUTE TO OMUKAMA OYO NYIMBA KABAMBA IGURU IV
A delegation of Kitagwenda District Local Government officials has paid tribute to the late Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, the King of Toro Kingdom, by signing the condolence book at Karuziika Palace in Fort Portal on 09.09.2026.
The delegation, led by the RDC, LCV Chairperson, Chief Administrative Officer and senior technical officials, visited Karuziika Palace to convey heartfelt condolences on behalf of the people and staff of Kitagwenda District Local Government following the passing of the Omukama. During the visit, the officials signed the condolence book and expressed their solidarity with the Toro Kingdom, the Royal Family, the Babito, and the people of Toro during this period of mourning. The district officials described the late Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV as an important cultural leader whose contribution to the preservation of Toro's cultural heritage, unity and identity will remain significant.
The delegation conveyed its deepest sympathies to the Royal Family and the entire Toro Kingdom, noting that the loss of the Omukama is not only a loss to the Kingdom but also to the wider community that looked to him as a symbol of cultural heritage and unity. Speaking on behalf of Kitagwenda District Local Government, the LCV Chairperson reaffirmed the district's respect for the institution of the Omukama and its solidarity with the Toro Kingdom as the Kingdom goes through this difficult moment.
The signing of the condolence book at Karuziika Palace provided an opportunity for Kitagwenda leaders to personally pay their respects and stand with the Royal Family and the Babito in honour of the departed King.
